Role Summary
AECOM is hiring an Associate – Cost Management for its Galway office. This position plays a senior delivery role in cost management assignments, with accountability for achieving successful outcomes from project start through completion.
What You Will Do
- Take ownership of the delivery of cost management engagements and ensure they are completed on schedule, within scope, and to a high level of client satisfaction.
- Guide, support, and mentor Senior Surveyors, Project Surveyors, and Graduates to help strengthen capability and performance across the team.
- Serve as the main contact for both new and existing clients on assigned projects, while developing strong and reliable working relationships.
- Coordinate resources and delivery teams effectively so commissions run efficiently.
- Spot, develop, and lead bid opportunities for cost management services across the region to help drive business growth.
- Make sure all team members reporting to you keep their training and professional development current.
- Deliver cost management outputs in line with agreed deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have background experience in the buildings sector and a strong consulting track record in cost management.
Requirements
- A BSc or MSc degree in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management.
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor status with SCSI or RICS.
- 8 to 10 years of proven experience in a consulting environment covering the full range of cost management services, including pre-contract estimating, procurement, contract administration, cost reporting, and final account resolution.
- A strong commitment to delivering high-quality consulting services to clients.
- Knowledge of Public Works Contracts and RIAI standard forms of contract.
- Ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value, and risk, rather than cost alone.
- Strong IT capability, including the ability to use digital measurement, cost planning, and tender document tools.
Work Style and Additional Information
This role is offered in a hybrid work model, giving flexibility to work from an AECOM office, a remote location, or a client site depending on project needs.
New hires must complete an in-person Day 1 onboarding session at an AECOM office as a condition of employment.
