Role Overview

The Associate Editor will support post-production by shaping raw footage into polished, platform-native video edits designed for Gen Z audiences. Working alongside Producers, Editors, and Designers, this person will help deliver high-quality social video content that matches the creative brief and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and refine short-form videos tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Implement feedback and creative direction from Producers, Editors, and Creative Leads.
  • Perform basic color adjustments, audio leveling, captioning, and final polish.
  • Revise edits promptly and accurately while keeping versions well tracked.
  • Keep project assets, exports, and delivery folders neatly organized.
  • Coordinate with producers and account teams to ensure efficient project handoffs.
  • Track social trends, editing patterns, and the latest Gen Z content styles.
  • Support troubleshooting in post-production and contribute ideas for improving workflows.
  • Join monthly training sessions with the Production Manager focused on Adobe Suite file organization best practices.
  • Prepare a monthly presentation summarizing editing trend insights and suggest how those insights can be used in future creative work.
  • Keep building skills by taking internet-based creative courses selected by your manager and funded by the company.
  • Take on additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 1–2 years of editing experience, whether from professional work, freelance projects, or academics.
  • Hands-on ability with Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Understanding of TikTok and short-form storytelling styles.
  • Strong instincts for timing, pacing, and comedic delivery.
  • Well-organized, responsive, and capable of handling several deadlines at once.
  • Genuine interest in entertainment, film, television, and internet culture.
  • Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, or CapCut is considered an advantage.
  • A portfolio or reel is required, with social-first examples preferred.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this role is $19.23 to $22.11. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s experience, skill set, and overall fit for the position.
