Role Overview

Sailglobal is hiring a Business Development Manager in Munich, Bavaria, Germany to drive international growth across AI and AI infrastructure markets. The role focuses on building a strong sales pipeline, shaping customer solutions, and closing high-value deals with global AI companies and enterprises adopting AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop outreach and acquisition efforts for global AI clients, including AI-native startups, ISVs, AI data providers, and enterprises in the middle of AI transformation.
  • Manage the complete AI MaaS sales cycle in international markets, covering prospecting, qualification, solution shaping, commercial discussions, and final closure, with an emphasis on token consumption and revenue growth.
  • Monitor GenAI developments such as foundation models, agents, AI infrastructure, and competitor activity, then convert customer and market insight into solution ideas and go-to-market input.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders at AI-focused companies to support retention, satisfaction, and expansion.
  • Work with clients to uncover AI business goals and pain points, then jointly define high-value use cases through consultative discussions and industry knowledge.
  • Clearly explain the business value of large language models in the client’s own context, help design workable solutions, and validate them to deliver measurable impact.
  • Partner closely with AI solutions, product, and marketing teams to create strong value propositions and run workshops, demos, and campaigns that build trust and speed up adoption.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher is required; a background in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Business, or a related subject is preferred. A master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experience in sales, pre-sales, technical roles, or product operations within AI, cloud, or software, with clear evidence of strong results. Experience from an AI-native company or a major cloud provider is considered a plus.
  • Hands-on use of leading LLMs and multimodal models is expected, along with awareness of model progress, agent frameworks, and current industry trends. Exposure to prompt engineering and vibe coding is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of AI MaaS commercial models and the ability to communicate their value effectively, along with familiarity with GenAI market movement and use cases by industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to take customers from proof of concept to production, including discovery, solution matching, pricing, and contract stages, while coordinating with solution architects and product teams.
  • Working knowledge of cloud and AI infrastructure products such as servers, GPUs, MaaS, RAG, and agents, with practical exposure to cloud sales, consulting, or operations.
  • A self-driven, quick-learning, customer-focused, and outcome-oriented mindset, with enthusiasm for AI innovation in a fast-moving environment.
  • Solid business understanding, including token-based business models and the ability to use Alibaba’s products to help customers scale.
  • Fluency in English is required, along with comfort working with international teams, cross-time-zone collaboration, and travel.
