Descrizione del lavoro

About the role

Bromley Beacon Academy is seeking a dependable, hands-on and proactive Caretaker to help keep the school environment clean, secure and in good working order for pupils, employees and visitors.

Reporting to the Premises Manager, you will take responsibility for a broad mix of site duties, including cleaning, everyday maintenance, minor repairs, security of the premises and porterage. You will also contribute to health and safety compliance, assist in overseeing cleaning support staff and coordinate with external contractors when required.

This position needs someone who can act on their own initiative, approach problems practically and adapt to changing needs. Some work outside normal hours is expected, including occasional early starts and late finishes.

What we are looking for

We would like to hear from candidates who have previous experience in caretaking or site maintenance, along with a solid understanding of health and safety practices. Basic DIY ability, a practical attitude and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team are important. Above all, you should be committed to helping create a safe, welcoming and well-kept school community.

About the school

Bromley Beacon Academy provides Key Stage 1 to 5 education for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The academy supports boys and girls through vocational learning in a safe, positive and supportive setting, with the aim of fostering mutual respect, resilience and the skills needed to become successful and contributing young adults.

The leadership team is focused on helping learners build the confidence, capabilities and personal qualities they need to thrive now and in the future.
