Role overview
This position is for a Customer Assistant at Lidl in Clane, County Kildare. The role is focused on delivering a positive shopping experience and supporting day-to-day store operations across different shifts and tasks.
Recruitment day details
There is a recruitment event at the Westgrove, Clane on Saturday 27 June, running from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Interviews will be fast-tracked and offers may be made on the same day. Anyone attending must submit an application for this role before coming to the event and should bring a copy of their CV.
Working pattern
The role is offered on a standard 30-hour contract. Work will vary across shift types, and the schedule can include different times of day and collaboration with different team members.
- Early shift: Starts at 5:00am or 6:00am and involves stocking shelves, preparing bakery items, and making sure products are ready before opening.
- Mid shift: Starts mid-morning or early afternoon and includes maintaining a clean, tidy store, keeping products fresh, helping customers on the shop floor, and serving on tills to reduce queues.
- Late shift: Starts in the afternoon and focuses on customer service at the till, replenishing missing stock, and preparing the store for the following day.
Main duties
- Provide friendly, helpful service to customers at all times.
- Follow all stock-loss prevention procedures across the store.
- Keep the store and external areas clean and hygienic.
- Apply freshness and rotation rules correctly.
- Handle waste disposal in the proper manner.
- Support the stock-count process.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should bring a positive, can-do approach and strong customer service ability. You should be willing to go the extra mile, work reliably, and handle a busy and varied retail environment. Teamwork is important. Previous customer-facing experience is preferred but not essential if you have the right attitude.
Because the role involves selling alcohol, applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Pay and benefits
The starting rate is €15.40 per hour, rising to €17.90 per hour after 3 years, with supplementary pay also applicable. Additional pay details are:
- Year 1: basic rate €15.40; unsocial hours €19.25; overtime/Sundays €23.10; bank holiday €30.80.
- Year 2: basic rate €16.20; unsocial hours €20.25; overtime/Sundays €24.30; bank holiday €32.40.
- Year 3: basic rate €16.90; unsocial hours €21.13; overtime/Sundays €25.35; bank holiday €33.80.
- Year 4: basic rate €17.90; unsocial hours €22.38; overtime/Sundays €26.85; bank holiday €35.80.
