Role Overview
Maynooth University’s School of Business is hiring a Data Analytical Research Assistant to join the International Research on Energy Systems Integration, Education & Environment for Sustainability and Innovation Center (IRESI). The centre works on advancing sustainable energy systems and supporting a cleaner, greener future through research focused on individuals, organisations, and institutions.
The selected candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team on the Research Ireland-funded RENEW project, with a strong focus on data analysis, data handling, and development work connected to the Smart Tariff Comparison Tool.
This opportunity is well suited to an early-career researcher or analyst who wants practical exposure to applied analytics, energy-focused research, and digital tool development in an interdisciplinary setting.
Key Work Areas
The role centres on collecting, preparing, analysing, and interpreting datasets related to energy use and consumer behaviour. The output from this work will help shape, test, and improve the Smart Tariff Comparison Tool.
You will collaborate closely with researchers and technical colleagues to carry out analytical tasks, process data, and contribute evidence that supports the project’s goals.
Salary
Research Assistant Level I (2026): €33,792 to €34,621 per annum, pro-rata, based on 2 points.
Appointments will follow public sector pay rules.
