Role overview
Headlight Health is a fast-growing behavioral healthcare company delivering therapy and psychiatry services across several states. Its BI and data engineering work is central to the business, supporting the real-time scheduling engine that pairs patients with clinicians, AI-enabled real-time agents, and the financial and clinical reporting used for major business decisions.
The company is hiring a Data Engineer for a small, high-performing team. In this role, you will work closely with the VP of Analytics and the CTO on production systems that operate around the clock in a HIPAA-regulated environment. This is a very hands-on engineering position where you will own data pipelines, develop stored procedures, troubleshoot integrations, and deliver improvements on an ongoing basis. You will also help build AI-powered automation to improve data and operational workflows.
Technology environment
- Python, including pandas, pyodbc, and requests
- T-SQL and Azure SQL Server stored procedures, with more than 300 version-controlled scripts
- Azure SQL Server as the main production warehouse, containing over 200 tables
- Azure cloud infrastructure
- A custom Python-based ETL platform
- HubSpot with deep connections across contacts, companies, deals, tickets, referrals, and referring physician structures
- NextGen EHR with raw-feed ingestion for patients, appointments, pharmacy, and clinical transactions
