Role Overview
Intandem is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support people with developmental disabilities in residential settings across Niagara County, New York. This role focuses on helping individuals live as independently as possible while maintaining their health, safety, and overall well-being. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with all shifts open. The role offers an hourly pay rate of $17.49 and includes benefits.
What You'll Do
You will assist, guide, and encourage residents with daily living activities, while also building supportive and respectful relationships. A key part of the role is helping individuals express their needs, take part in community activities, and enjoy a more inclusive, meaningful routine.
- Support residents in day-to-day living and encourage greater independence.
- Promote each individual’s health, safety, and personal well-being.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with the people you support.
- Advocate for residents so their needs, preferences, and goals are heard and understood.
- Help individuals participate in community recreation and social activities.
- Carry out light housekeeping duties to maintain a comfortable living environment.
- Assist with meal planning to help ensure nutritious food choices.
- Administer medications when required.
- Take part in scheduled training sessions to strengthen your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should be able to perform all core job duties. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior exposure to this kind of work is not stated as mandatory, but the ability to work flexible schedules is important, including weekends and holidays. A valid New York State driver’s license that meets the agency’s driving policy is preferred.
