Position Summary
The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a motivated and technology-oriented E-Learning Officer to support the planning, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the University's e-learning environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, students, academic departments, and IT to ensure effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other educational technologies, supporting online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning initiatives while promoting best practices in instructional technology and digital learning.

Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in e-learning, instructional technology, LMS administration, or educational technology support.
- Previous experience within a higher education setting is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or comparable platforms.
Skills / Training / Knowledge
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Understanding of online learning principles and instructional technologies.
- Experience with educational software, virtual classrooms, and digital collaboration tools.
- Strong capabilities in technical troubleshooting and user support.
- Knowledge of instructional design and course development methodologies.
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
- Ability to create comprehensive user guides, tutorials, and training materials.
- Effective organizational and project coordination abilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively with academic and administrative stakeholders.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and online learning best practices is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support the University's Learning Management System (LMS) and associated educational technology platforms.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to faculty, students, and staff on LMS functionalities and e-learning tools.
- Support faculty in the development, uploading, and management of online and blended course content.
- Conduct training workshops and orientation sessions covering LMS utilization and educational technologies.
- Create user manuals, guides, and instructional resources to facilitate effective use of e-learning systems.
- Monitor LMS performance and liaise with the Information Technology Department for technical issue resolution.
- Facilitate the integration of innovative teaching and learning technologies across the University.
- Contribute to the design and development of online learning resources and digital instructional materials.
- Track user engagement and generate reports on LMS usage, course activity, and learning analytics.
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies, accreditation standards, and best practices for online learning.
- Support online examinations, assessments, surveys, and other academic activities managed through the LMS.
- Evaluate emerging educational technologies and propose solutions to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness.
- Collaborate with academic departments to advance technology-enhanced learning initiatives.
- Maintain detailed documentation for e-learning systems, processes, and user support activities.
- Participate in institutional projects and committees focused on digital learning and educational technology.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Director or University management.
