Role Overview

This position is responsible for managing the daily finance operations that keep the business running smoothly as the company scales. The Finance Associate will be a practical, detail-oriented partner to the Finance Manager and will work across finance, retail operations, logistics, customer deductions, inventory, and related systems. The role offers broad exposure to the operational processes behind a national food brand.

Key Responsibilities

The role focuses on core transactional finance work, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end support. It also involves identifying process issues, tracking exceptions, and helping improve workflows across procurement and collections.

Detailed Scope of Work

• Manage accounts payable processes in Bill.com, including invoice entry, general ledger coding, routing approvals, and vendor coordination.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks such as cash application, customer deduction review, and chargeback management, including EDI-based remittance and deduction activity.
• Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and review of corporate card transactions.
• Prepare trade spend and billback uploads in a Trade Promotion Management system.
• Review and code freight and logistics invoices.
• Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Identify recurring issues, unusual trends, and opportunities to improve order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.

What You Need

Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, staff accounting, or finance operations. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is required, along with the ability to manage large volumes of transactions accurately and consistently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-focused, and able to work independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Background

Experience in consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, distribution, or logistics is preferred. Prior exposure to retailer deductions, chargebacks, and trade spend reconciliation would be an advantage. Familiarity with EDI workflows, including remittance advice, invoicing, and deductions through platforms such as SPS Commerce or TrueCommerce, is also preferred. Experience with Bill.com or a TPM platform such as Vividly, Promomash, Cresicor, or Confido is a plus. A degree, certification, or relevant coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role is between $75,000 and $90,000, depending on experience. The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus tied to company and individual operational results. Health benefits are provided through a monthly ICHRA reimbursement toward personal health insurance premiums, allowing the employee to choose their own plan within a defined limit. Paid time off includes 25 days per year, plus company holidays.
