Role overview
FC Progrès Niederkorn - Progrès Business Club 🐝 is looking for a part-time Governance Manager based in Abu Dhabi, with a working model that combines onsite presence and the flexibility to work from home some of the time.
The role is focused on creating, rolling out, and keeping up-to-date governance structures, policies, and operating procedures that help the club make sound decisions and stay aligned with applicable rules and internal standards. The position also plays a key part in ensuring board and committee processes are well organized, properly recorded, and followed through.
Core duties
You will support governance activity across the club and business club by preparing meeting agendas, capturing minutes, tracking actions, and ensuring approvals and decisions are followed up on in a timely way.
In addition, you will review internal controls, contracts, and regulatory obligations to spot compliance concerns, risks, and process gaps, then recommend realistic improvements where needed.
The role also includes working closely with both internal teams and outside stakeholders, maintaining accurate governance records and documentation, and providing regular updates to leadership on governance, compliance, and risk-related topics.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate brings prior experience in governance, corporate administration, or compliance, preferably from sports organizations, membership bodies, or non-profit/club settings.
We are seeking someone with a strong grasp of policy creation, process improvement, and the implementation of governance systems and standards. Experience in planning and documenting board or committee meetings is important, including managing agendas, minutes, and follow-up items.
A solid understanding of risk management, compliance principles, and internal controls is required. Strong English communication skills are essential, while knowledge of other languages would be helpful.
The role calls for a person with strong integrity, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with confidential information, as well as the ability to build relationships and work well with people from different teams and cultures.
Comfort using hybrid work setups and digital collaboration tools such as document management platforms, video conferencing software, and project tracking tools is also expected.
A bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, governance, public policy, or a similar field is preferred, and relevant certifications in governance, compliance, or risk would be an added advantage.
You should also be able to work independently, juggle multiple priorities in a part-time role, and consistently meet deadlines.
Additional information
This is a part-time position. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and follows a hybrid arrangement, meaning there is flexibility for some work from home.
