Head of Basic Medical Sciences

Role overview

Central University is looking to appoint a Head of Basic Medical Sciences to lead the department and support its academic mission at the Tema campus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the department in both academic and administrative matters.
• Deliver teaching and supervision support to medical students.
• Carry out the broader duties expected of a senior academic staff member.
• Take on additional tasks assigned by the Dean or the Vice Chancellor.

Qualification and experience

• Applicants must currently hold at least the rank of Senior Lecturer at a recognised tertiary institution.
• A PhD or other terminal degree is required in one of the following fields: Anatomy, Physiology, or Medical Biochemistry.
• Experience in a comparable leadership position will be considered an advantage.

Location

Tema, Greater Accra Region, Ghana.
