Housing Concierge

Role overview

Home Group is hiring a Housing Concierge for its service-based site in Exeter city centre. The position is permanent and full time at 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £26,300 per year plus a strong benefits package including a Health Cash Plan. Sponsorship cannot be provided for this role.

As part of a team supporting vulnerable people and customers with more complex support needs, you will help keep customers safe, maintain secure and welcoming buildings, and support positive relationships with neighbours.

Key duties

• Carry out regular walks around the building, checking CCTV, fire doors and shared spaces.
• Welcome customers and visitors and take action on repairs or cleaning matters.
• Act as the first point of support when the wider team or a customer’s support network is unavailable.
• Handle incidents with a calm, prompt and fair approach.
• Work alongside colleagues and external partners to address anti-social behaviour.

• Sound judgement and the ability to communicate clearly.
• The ability to spot early signs of problems and step in sensitively and confidently.

Working pattern and practical details

You will work on a rolling 4-week rota covering 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. The role includes some weekend and bank holiday shifts. Regular training sessions and team meetings are part of the role. You should be comfortable using technology to monitor CCTV, update records and stay in touch with colleagues. The job requires a self-starting attitude, effective conflict management and a resilient mindset. An Enhanced DBS check is required, and Home Group will cover the cost.
