Junior Data Analyst

Role overview

Radiance Technologies is hiring an early-career Junior Data Analyst to support the Advanced Trade Analytics Platform (ATAP) for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This remote U.S.-based position is geared toward someone who wants to develop analytical capability while contributing to work tied to trade enforcement and national security. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and government partners on reporting, analytics, and machine learning-related efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Study datasets to surface trends, patterns, and useful insights.
• Assist with data extraction, transformation, and loading tasks.
• Help build, test, and roll out analytical tools and software.
• Prepare datasets for analytics, reporting, and machine learning work.
• Support researchers, data scientists, and analysts on modeling and analysis projects.
• Create reports, dashboards, and technical documentation.
• Carry out data validation and quality checks.
• Look for ways to improve processes and automate repetitive tasks.
• Share findings clearly with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies and team collaboration activities.

Required background

• A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Information Systems, Analytics, or another quantitative discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, statistics, computer science, operations research, or a related area.
• A master’s degree in a relevant field can replace the required experience.
• Working knowledge of analytics concepts, statistics, data visualization, and databases.
• Some familiarity with programming or scripting languages used in analytics settings.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Comfort working in a team-oriented environment.
• Careful attention to detail and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Preferred experience

• Background supporting federal, DHS, CBP, defense, intelligence, or law enforcement programs.
• Exposure to Python, SQL, R, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and methods.
• Experience working with large datasets and reporting solutions.

Security and access requirements

• An active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
• You must be able to obtain and maintain access to DHS and CBP systems and facilities.
