Role Overview
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor will lead frontline production activity in a manufacturing setting, helping ensure output, quality, safety, and team performance are aligned with business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion safe working practices and strong housekeeping standards to maintain a secure environment for all staff.
- Make sure quality and control procedures are followed within manufacturing areas, including data recording, checks, OCAPs, gear protocols, and related requirements.
- Supervise team members directly so production goals are achieved.
- Create and implement training plans that support business priorities.
- Encourage, coach, and develop team members to support a positive production culture and adapt capacity to changing needs.
- Share clear updates with team members, equipment technicians, and process engineering groups so the manufacturing plan is executed effectively.
- Manage workflow by setting, adjusting, and tracking priorities and targets, while monitoring metrics such as area, tool, and stage performance to improve results.
- Communicate expected performance standards and complete regular employee reviews on time.
- Lead shift handovers by passing along manufacturing priorities and relevant performance information.
- Liaise with Human Resources on hiring matters, employee relations, and similar issues.
- Work with the wider production leadership group to improve resource allocation.
- Take part in continuous improvement initiatives that support organizational goals.
Required Skills and Experience
- Solid understanding of manufacturing objectives and operational priorities.
- Strong people leadership or team lead experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
- High energy, motivation, and a strong drive to deliver results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal ability.
- Proven ability to identify problems and work through solutions effectively.
- Sound judgment and decision-making within defined limits.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capability.
Additional Information
This position requires night work and follows a variable shift pattern. It is an experienced-level role with no travel required.
