Role Summary

We are hiring a Mid/Senior Full Stack Developer for the Auckland location. This is a contract/FTC role for someone who can build and support web applications across both front-end and back-end layers.

The position calls for strong practical experience with React and/or Angular on the client side, along with Java and Spring Boot for server-side development and APIs. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an agile delivery setup and partnering closely with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, release, and support web applications across the full stack.
• Create modern, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using React and/or Angular.
• Develop secure and scalable backend services and APIs with Java and Spring Boot.
• Plan and improve database structures, queries, and data access approaches.
• Connect internal and external systems through REST APIs, enterprise integrations, and secure authentication methods.
• Work closely with product owners, architects, designers, QA, DevOps, and security teams.
• Take part in sprint planning, task estimation, backlog grooming, and other agile ceremonies.
• Contribute to solution design, code review, troubleshooting, performance optimisation, and production support.
• Write and update unit, integration, and API tests to improve delivery reliability.
• Follow secure coding standards, CI/CD practices, branching workflows, and agile delivery processes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as API specs, design notes, and deployment/support materials.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proven experience using React and/or Angular for front-end development.
• Solid experience with Java and Spring Boot for building backend services and APIs.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, authentication, authorisation, and API security.
• Experience with secure API practices, vulnerability awareness, secrets handling, role-based access control, and OWASP guidance.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Oracle.
• Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive layouts, accessibility, and UI engineering best practices.
• Experience writing unit, integration, and API tests using suitable testing tools.
• Hands-on experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Experience contributing to sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
