Role overview

As a Mobile Dispensing Optician, you will move between stores within a defined local area to provide cover whenever colleagues are absent. The role is central to delivering regulated dispensing support in stores and working alongside a Mobile Optometrist to create a smooth patient journey from consultation through to dispensing.

What you will do

  • Lead by example while delivering excellent care, guiding patients and customers toward suitable optical and healthcare products and services.
  • Work flexibly across the opticians area based on business needs and keep your knowledge current so you can perform at your best for patients and customers.
  • Offer specialist guidance to patients with more complex needs.
  • Provide end-to-end healthcare solutions and coach other opticians team members to do the same.
  • Partner with Boots Healthcare teams to support a joined-up health service.
  • Support the development, learning, and training of colleagues, including mentoring students such as Student Dispensing Opticians.
  • Follow professional standards, Boots Opticians clinical policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Help the opticians team run an efficient day and follow operational processes so the business operates legally and safely.
  • Take part in regular store leadership meetings and help maintain strong clinical standards and patient safety.
  • Promote digital tools and encourage customers to use them where suitable through positive conversations.

  • Proven optical experience and technical expertise.
