About the role
Spark Lifecare is looking for a Personal Support Worker to provide one-to-one care in the community around Hamilton and nearby areas. This role supports people who may have experienced trauma, live with complex medical conditions, or need help building independence in daily life.
The organization focuses on community healthcare that gives clients more control over their care choices and connects them with compassionate, dependable professionals.
What you will do
You will support clients with day-to-day living, help maintain safety during both home and community activities, and provide practical and emotional assistance tailored to each person’s needs.
- Help clients with activities of daily living.
- Support safety during home-based and community-based activities.
- Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene support.
- Assist with transfers.
- Handle additional care duties such as organizing tasks, preparing meals, providing transportation, offering emotional support, light housekeeping, and other routine help.

Requirements
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- A smartphone with an active data plan.
- A Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.
Preferred assets
- PSW certificate or post-secondary education in a related field.
- Valid G-class driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training.
Schedule and pay
Scheduling is flexible and depends on the client. Independent contractors manage their own availability and can choose assignments that fit their schedule.
The pay rate is $28 per hour.
