Role Overview

GoodRx is seeking a pharmacy editor to develop engaging, patient-friendly health content that helps people make informed healthcare choices. You will research, write, and edit material for GoodRx Health, converting complex clinical topics into plain, readable language for a general audience.

This position calls for a pharmacist with excellent communication skills and the ability to combine practical pharmacy knowledge with up-to-date scientific evidence. The work centers on producing accurate, clear, and compelling content that meets strong editorial and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, onboard, and coordinate a group of freelance pharmacist writers and reviewers.
• Draft, edit, and evaluate consumer-focused drug and health articles for medical accuracy, readability, and appropriate tone.
• Convert detailed clinical information into content that is approachable and easy for non-clinical readers to understand.
• Make sure articles follow editorial standards, house style, and search optimization best practices.
• Keep current with treatment guidance, new medication approvals, and changes in the healthcare landscape.
• Work with SEO, product, and marketing partners on content projects, including acting as a clinical resource and reviewer for social, marketing, and video materials.
• Refresh and revise existing articles to keep them accurate, timely, and useful.
• Handle content assignments tied to business needs, including launches of new drugs.
• Interact with pharmacy students completing APPE rotations with other GoodRx pharmacists and, where appropriate, serve as a preceptor.

Skills and Experience

• PharmD or an equivalent pharmacy credential is required; an active pharmacist license is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in pharmacy practice, medical writing, editing, or a similar area.
• Previous experience creating or editing drug information or patient education materials is preferred.
• Experience working with freelance contributors or cross-functional teams is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SEO and digital content strategy is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex clinical topics for consumers.
• Proven ability to interpret clinical guidelines, prescribing information, and primary research.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in health and medication content.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, work to deadlines, and operate independently.

Application Notes

Applicants should submit a resume along with clips of prior patient-facing health writing. If clips are unavailable, candidates may provide a 200- to 400-word writing sample on a clinical topic for a general audience. A suggested sample topic is: “What is aspirin and how does it work?” The sample should be written at approximately a 6th-grade reading level.

Compensation

GoodRx provides location-based salary ranges for this role:

• San Francisco and Seattle offices: $151,000 to $242,000
• New York office: $139,000 to $222,000
• Santa Monica office: $126,000 to $202,000
• Other office locations: $113,000 to $182,000

In addition to base pay, the company may offer annual cash bonuses or commissions, annual equity grants for most positions, and a broad benefits package.
