Role overview

Calian Health Services is hiring a part-time Physiotherapist for the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre in Dundurn. The position involves delivering consultation, assessment, and treatment within the physiotherapy area through booked appointments and walk-ins, as well as supporting the Care Delivery Unit through sick parade and consultation in a collaborative care model. The patient group is generally highly fit and motivated to recover.

Key duties

The physiotherapist will manage a full orthopedic caseload and provide evidence-based rehabilitation services aligned with regulatory standards and professional scope of practice. Care will focus on neuro-musculoskeletal issues, particularly those related to sports injuries, training injuries, work injuries, and accidents.

The role also includes obtaining and recording informed consent, carrying out screening assessments, offering education and orthotic guidance in direct-access situations, and prescribing exercise plans to support recovery, injury prevention, and improved fitness.

Additional duties include hands-on treatment such as manual therapy and soft-tissue techniques, using pain-management methods including acupuncture where appropriate, delivering ergonomics education and workplace assessments, and educating patients and care-team members on injury prevention and health promotion.

Further responsibilities cover biomechanical foot assessments, orthotics fitting and fabrication, supporting program development for rehabilitation and education, participating in interdisciplinary meetings and clinical rounds, contributing to patient conferences and follow-up planning, and maintaining accurate daily clinical records in line with CF and provincial documentation standards.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an active Saskatchewan physiotherapy licence in good standing. A minimum of 3 years of experience in orthopedics or sports medicine is required, along with one of the following: Manual Therapy Level 2, McKenzie Part B, or an acupuncture credential such as AFCI or Dry Needling Certification.

A valid Standard First Aid certificate and Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers, or an equivalent CPR/AED Level C credential, is also required.

Additional requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level. A security clearance and/or vulnerable sector screening may also be required, and the recruiter will guide the candidate through that process.

Compensation

The stated pay is $50 to $60 per hour.

Work hours are weekdays from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with no evenings or weekends. The position emphasizes patient care rather than billing or marketing tasks.
