Operational Support Grade
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Guys Marsh. This is an extraordinary job where you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of a busy prison. You will be part of a dedicated team, handling a variety of tasks including security checks at the gate, managing incoming deliveries, supervising visitor interactions, and monitoring phone calls and CCTV systems. This dynamic role combines administrative duties with physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across the prison grounds.
About the Role
As an OSG, you will contribute to maintaining a smooth and safe prison environment. Your good judgment and common sense will be essential, along with your ability to be a strong team player. While your direct contact with prisoners will be limited, you may interact with them occasionally depending on the specific prison. This position offers valuable insight into prison operations and can serve as a stepping stone to other roles within the prison service, including potential conversion to a Prison Officer.

Additional Information
In addition to your base salary, you will benefit from 25 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 days after 10 years of service. You will also receive 9 days of holiday for bank, public, and privilege holidays. Access to a paid Level 2 apprenticeship in customer service is provided.
