Descrizione del lavoro

Overview

This is a contract assignment supporting Amazon through an approved third-party provider, not a direct full-time role with Amazon. The selected candidate will be engaged as a contract worker for the duration of the specified project.

The position is a travelling construction management role with approximately 75% to 100% travel across the USA. It sits at the center of complex program execution, where the focus is on leading initiatives from early planning through completion while balancing timelines, resources, quality, and stakeholder alignment.

Working closely with engineering professionals, the role involves guiding the design, development, and rollout of advanced physical distribution systems across global locations. Success requires strong leadership, the ability to shift between technical detail and executive communication, and a proactive approach to resolving issues before they affect delivery.

What you will do

  • Lead initiatives end to end, from planning and setup through implementation and closeout.
  • Travel to project sites to oversee vendors involved in retrofit projects.
  • Build practical schedules with clear milestones and keep work aligned to agreed timelines.
  • Delegate tasks based on team members’ strengths, availability, and priorities.
  • Track execution closely and surface risks or delays early enough to protect delivery.
  • Develop detailed progress updates and presentations for senior leaders.
  • Guide team members, provide direction, and remove blockers that slow progress.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with external vendors, customers, and partners.
  • Keep project scope controlled and prevent work from expanding beyond approved boundaries.
  • Identify, evaluate, and reduce risks throughout the life of each initiative.
  • Act as the communication bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Verify that engineering outputs meet quality expectations and functional needs.
  • Work with support teams to limit disruption to operations during rollout.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in the field or a related area.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex initiatives.
  • Experience leading the work of others and providing day-to-day direction.
  • Background working with vendors, customers, or external partners.
  • Prior experience managing technology or integration programs.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures, especially in retrofit environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage several priorities at once in a fast-moving setting.
  • Understanding of fulfillment and distribution center system design approaches.
  • Familiarity with technologies used in physical distribution environments.
  • Capability in risk management, stakeholder handling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
