Role overview
An innovative space technology organisation focused on lunar mobility and robotics is looking for an experienced Program Manager to help deliver a next-generation lunar vehicle initiative. This position plays a key part in one of the decade’s most ambitious human space exploration efforts, supporting the development and delivery of advanced lunar surface systems for future crewed missions.
The role sits in a fast-moving, highly collaborative engineering setting. The successful candidate will help coordinate complex program execution across technical, operational, and customer-facing workstreams while keeping delivery aligned with mission goals, timelines, budgets, and safety expectations.
What you will do
- Assist the lead Program Manager in bringing together multiple workstreams that contribute to overall program delivery.
- Organise milestone reviews, including planning, stakeholder alignment, readiness checks, and action follow-up.
- Monitor integrated schedules, budgets, technical goals, and milestone progress in partnership with engineering and product teams.
- Compile and share program performance metrics across technical and operational areas.
- Serve as a primary contact for external stakeholders and customers, sharing updates on progress, risks, and deliverables.
- Contribute to scaling efforts by helping shape team structure and resource planning.
- Improve delivery efficiency by strengthening internal processes, prioritisation, and program governance.
- Keep safety considerations central to program decisions and execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities and support communication between technical teams and enabling functions.
- Run internal meetings to align priorities, surface risks, and remove blockers.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and accessible program data for stakeholders.
- Support adherence to internal procedures, quality expectations, and operational policies.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related technical field.
- Substantial experience in program or project management within highly technical or engineering-led settings.
- Proven experience handling scope, schedules, budgets, and delivery across complex projects.
- Exposure to spaceflight, aerospace, human-rated systems, or other high-reliability engineering programs.
- Strong leadership skills with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to turn customer needs and strategic goals into practical program plans and deliverables.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience with project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project and Jira.
- Track record of managing multiple priorities across several teams at once.
- Self-motivated approach with the ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with subcontractors and external partners on complex technical programs.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
