Primary responsibilities

  • Carry out receiving inspections on incoming raw materials, packing materials, and purchased components using the approved specifications.
  • Track important process inputs and variables, and share required process adjustments with production teams.
  • Perform in-process visual and dimensional inspections on parts and packed components against defined standards.
  • Identify nonconforming items, separate and label them, place them in quarantine, and report issues to the supervisor.
  • Take part in new product development and process validation activities according to protocol.
  • Conduct first article inspections from drawings using inspection guides and standard or custom gauges.
  • Inspect finished products before carton packing, storage, and palletization for shipment, including customer-specific requirements where applicable.
  • Monitor measuring tools and inspection equipment to confirm they remain in proper working condition.
  • Support periodic calibration of measuring and monitoring devices and fixtures.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions related to customer complaints.
  • Maintain control of QMS documents and record retention requirements.
  • Record inspection outcomes in reports, logs, and the quality database.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe cleanroom environment by following all applicable procedures and standards.
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of inspection checklists and inspection reports.
  • Review issues and provide initial recommendations for possible corrective action.

Technical and functional requirements

  • Hands-on quality inspection experience for plastics injection molded and assembled medical devices.
  • Working knowledge of quality management system requirements, preferably ISO 13485.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with arithmetic, analytical quality engineering, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to process improvement and problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use computer tools such as Minitab, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Working conditions

The role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Candidates must be prepared to work night shifts and weekends.
