About the Role
Greenvolt Next is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to lead and support accurate estimation, cost control, and financial management for construction projects. This role is crucial for overseeing subcontractor payment applications and variations from project inception to final account settlement. The primary objective is to ensure projects are delivered within budget, maximizing value while upholding quality standards and adhering to contractual obligations. This position is based in Waterford Metropolitan Area, Ireland, and requires the candidate to be based in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and implement commercial terms and conditions provided by the sales team or contract.
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities for civil engineering operations.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor tenders, negotiating subcontract packages.
- Foster commercial and contractual awareness among project teams, ensuring adherence to T&Cs.
- Support the setup and upload of commercial performance targets into the company system.
- Aid the procurement team in identifying cost-effective resources, including materials, equipment, and contractors.
- Contribute to preconstruction activities by providing insights on the latest technologies, their associated costs, and lead times.
- Review subcontractor claims and manage project variations.
- Analyze project outcomes and generate detailed progress reports.
- Provide feedback to the project team regarding sales invoices and costs.
- Attend site visits for client meetings, site walkdowns, subcontractor discussions, and work inspections.
- Assist in the development of the company's commercial procedures and documentation.
- Share knowledge and mentor other team members.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a third-level degree or equivalent in education and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects or sites simultaneously.
- Experience in contracting services is essential.
- Familiarity with the renewable energy sector is considered an advantage.
