The institute is a biomedical and hospital research centre affiliated with McGill University and supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS). The organization emphasizes scientific discovery, innovation, and patient-centered medicine.

What you will do

  • Plan and coordinate co-design sessions involving youth, researchers, and community members.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of EDI-related activities for national research networks.
  • Help recruit participants and oversee the day-to-day management of active child health studies.
  • Contribute to the development of mixed-methods and community-based participatory research protocols.
  • Assist with drafting study protocols and manuscripts.
  • Handle Research Ethics Board and Contracts Office processes, including approvals, amendments, and annual renewals.
  • Work closely with national research teams and a range of stakeholders.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Carry out literature reviews, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Support the supervision of volunteers and trainees.
  • Assist with knowledge mobilization and dissemination activities.

Education and experience

Candidates should have a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, or another health-related discipline, along with 2 years of experience in health research.

Skills and background needed

The role requires strong bilingual communication ability in French and English, both spoken and written. Experience with community-based participatory action research and co-design methods is essential, as is prior work in clinical research and in both quantitative and qualitative research settings. Experience working with Indigenous communities is also required.

Strong organization, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, independence, teamwork, multitasking ability, and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and qualitative research tools such as NVivo are important. Experience with RI-MUHC and with multicultural communities is considered an asset.

Work arrangement and schedule

This is a temporary full-time role with a 35-hour workweek. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The position is based at 5252 de Maisonneuve Blvd. and also involves the Glen Site at 1001 Blvd. Décarie. The job may be performed in a hybrid arrangement that combines on-site and remote work, and it requires work across multiple sites.

Compensation and benefits

Pay is commensurate with education and experience. The institute offers a broad benefits package that includes 4 weeks of vacation, a 5th week after 5 years, 12 paid days for personal, sickness, or family obligations, 13 paid statutory holidays, modular group insurance with gender affirmation coverage, telemedicine, a RREGOP defined benefit pension plan, training and professional development opportunities, child care centres, corporate discounts such as OPUS and Perkopolis, competitive monthly parking, an employee assistance program, recognition programs, and flexible work options.

Additional information

This position is not a hospital role. Applicants who want to include a cover letter should combine it with their resume into a single document. The organization is committed to equal opportunity employment and to equity, diversity, and inclusion. It welcomes qualified candidates who identify as members of racialized groups or visible minorities, women, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and 2SLGBTQIA+ persons, as well as others who can contribute meaningfully to diverse communities. Candidates with disabilities may confidentially request accommodations for any part of the application process.
