Role overview
This position supports CHANEL’s luxury fashion retail business by strengthening the capability, confidence, and client presence of Fashion Advisors. The goal is to help retail teams create more personal and emotionally engaging client experiences, while also improving loyalty among both advisors and clients to support sustainable business growth.
The role focuses on moving from broad-based training toward more tailored coaching and development. You will work closely with HR, boutique leadership, retail managers, and other partners to identify growth opportunities, build development pathways, and reinforce CHANEL’s brand values on the shop floor.
Key responsibilities
- Create, roll out, and track learning journeys for the retail team so Fashion Advisors have structured development plans and access to relevant training.
- Regularly observe client and staff interactions to spot skill gaps and areas where coaching is needed.
- Build and manage individual as well as team coaching plans, then follow up on progress and outcomes.
- Run in-boutique learning sessions such as flash trainings, morning meetings, and collection briefings using blended and digital learning formats.
- Coach Fashion Advisors on flexibility, emotional client engagement, brand heritage, and collection knowledge.
- Share timely feedback based on industry standards and CHANEL competency expectations.
- Design and deliver onboarding programs for new hires covering product knowledge, selling techniques, and the client experience.
- Guide onboarding buddies so that new team members integrate smoothly.
- Work with specialists, including client engagement teams, to execute action plans that support Fashion Advisor development.
- Co-develop learning materials and development roadmaps with the L&D team and other cross-functional partners.
- Coordinate with boutique management, HR, and regional teams to ensure learning plans support business priorities.
- Partner with subject matter experts to provide complete product and service training.
- Measure training impact using KPIs and use the results to understand staff performance and client trends.
- Share workforce and client insights with retail leaders to support better decisions.
- Use client satisfaction data to fine-tune learning approaches and support ongoing improvement.
- Improve learning processes, including training administration and feedback loops, to make them more effective and consistent.
- Ensure activities align with global and regional standards and update SOPs when needed.
- Work with IT, HR, and operations teams to strengthen learning platforms and related systems.
Stakeholders
Internal: Retail leaders, boutique teams, fashion L&D, HR, marketing, visual merchandising, styling teams, regional L&D/HR, and business partners.
External: Training vendors, consultants, event venues, food and beverage providers, and production suppliers.
