Role overview
This opportunity is for a Senior Business Controller at a long-established international industrial company based north of Frankfurt, Germany. The position is commercially oriented and sits close to senior decision-makers, with a strong focus on improving business performance through high-quality financial insight.
The role follows a hybrid arrangement, with three days each week required on site. The offered salary is between €100,000 and €120,000, plus benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Produce management reporting, financial insights, and performance analysis to support business decisions.
- Build variance reviews, profitability analyses, and dashboard reporting for leadership visibility.
- Oversee liquidity planning, cash flow projections, and working capital reporting.
- Handle banking coordination, lender-related reporting, and covenant monitoring/calculation.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements prepared under HGB and IFRS.
- Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and wider financial planning activities.
- Spot financial and commercial risks and suggest practical mitigation actions.
- Create and refine KPIs, reporting formats, and controlling processes that improve transparency.
- Serve as a finance business partner to senior management on operational and commercial topics.
- Support transformation projects in finance, including ERP, BI, and reporting-system enhancements.
Candidate profile
- A bachelor’s or master’s qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a comparable subject is required.
- You should bring at least five years of experience in controlling, FP&A, or a similar finance function in a medium-sized or large business.
- Exposure to audit work is helpful, though not mandatory.
- A strong analytical approach and solid commercial judgement are important, along with good problem-solving ability.
- Hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business partnering is expected.
- Very good English communication skills are essential.
