Role Summary
Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is hiring a Senior Strategic Program Coordinator for a 12-month contract in Abu Dhabi. The role supports a fast-growing function focused on strengthening culture and tourism in the emirate and helping Abu Dhabi stand out as a global destination for culture, creativity, and tourism.
This position is centered on improving operational visibility, making reporting more effective, and keeping coordination smooth across internal teams and central services. It is well suited to someone who is highly organised, proactive, and comfortable using data, dashboards, and technology to support better decision-making and reduce manual work.
What You Will Do
The Senior Strategic Program Coordinator will support the Executive Director’s office and the broader Operations function through structured coordination, reporting, and operational assistance. The role includes building dashboards, bringing together internal updates, monitoring key activities, liaising with shared services, and helping shape new or evolving operational processes.
Administration and Operational Support
- Assist with preparing meetings, tracking actions, and following up on items discussed in leadership meetings.
- Keep core operational records, trackers, and reference documents well organised and up to date.
- Help coordinate schedules, travel arrangements, and event preparation when needed.
- Make sure action items and follow-ups are recorded clearly and moved forward.
Dashboards and Analytics
- Create, update, and manage dashboards that monitor activity across important functions.
- Spot patterns, highlight risks, and present useful insights to support leadership decisions.
Internal Reporting
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the Director and other key internal stakeholders.
- Bring together single, consolidated status updates across tasks and projects.
- Support briefing documents and ad hoc reporting requests from leadership.
- Ensure reports are accurate, submitted on time, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
Terms and Additional Information
This is a 12-month contract position based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Candidates with experience in government, consulting, strategy, operations, shared services, or newly established functions are particularly relevant. Experience in gaming or related sectors is helpful but not mandatory. Applicants are encouraged to share their CV for consideration.
Requirements
The role calls for 5–7 years of relevant operations experience, preferably in a government organisation or a large, complex environment. Candidates should also have at least 2 years of experience working in the GCC and should have operated at Consultant, Senior Consultant, Manager, or similar level.
Strong capability in operational reporting, dashboard creation, stakeholder coordination, and process improvement is essential. The role also requires advanced use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools, along with familiarity with AI tools for drafting, reporting, data analysis, and workflow automation.
Excellent written and spoken English is required. Candidates should be highly organised, detail-focused, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Experience in a start-up, build-phase, or newly created function is considered an advantage, as is prior exposure to senior leadership or Executive Director-level stakeholders.
Other Requirements and Notes
The successful candidate should be able to use technology to streamline manual work and improve operational efficiency. A background in gaming or adjacent industries is a plus, though not essential.
