Special Agent (Accounting/Finance Background)

About the Role

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking individuals with an accounting or finance background to transition into a Special Agent career. This role is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. How Your Accounting and Finance Background Translates

Your existing expertise in accounting and finance provides a strong foundation for a Special Agent role. Skills developed in financial analysis, budgeting, and risk management, including experience with tools like R and Tableau, and financial accounting principles, are highly valued. The FBI will leverage your ability to interpret information, connect details, and make sense of complex situations. Major Duties

• Plan and execute investigations into potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity threats, and public safety concerns.
• Apply judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to effectively manage investigative demands.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with domestic and international law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness to meet the demands of law enforcement duties.

Key Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
• Must be willing to undertake travel as necessary.
• Must satisfy all FBI Employment Eligibility criteria.

Education

A bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university is required. A degree in accounting or a related field such as business administration, finance, or forensic accounting is preferred. All degrees must be verified with official college transcripts.
