Role Overview
This position is for a Senior Project Engineer / Assistant Manager - Project who will help drive engineering projects from planning through delivery. The role requires close coordination with design, production, site, and other internal teams to keep work on track, control costs, maintain safety, and ensure successful project completion. It is suited to someone looking to progress toward project management in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep project schedules on track by following up with different departments, reviewing progress regularly, and preventing delays in dispatch.
- Prepare project budgets and monitor them closely throughout execution.
- Work closely with engineers, managers, stakeholders, and team members to maintain clear communication and real-time project visibility.
- Demonstrate discipline in attendance, meeting punctuality, and meeting deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures without deviation and contribute to Kaizen and other process-improvement efforts.
- Improve communication across functions by using effective channels and resolving gaps quickly.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and apply continuous-improvement practices in future projects.
- Spot project risks during planning and execution, then implement actions to reduce schedule or delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate project records, dashboards, progress updates, and meeting notes for transparency.
- Conduct a project closure discussion with stakeholders after completion to capture lessons learned for future work.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems is needed for project tracking and material planning.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and project management tools is expected.
- Excellent communication and coordination ability is important.
- The role calls for multitasking, working under pressure, and making sound decisions.
- Experience in a project-based manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Priority may be given to candidates who can join within 0 to 30 days.
Additional Information
This opportunity is based in Pune, India, and is intended for a full-time onsite role. The compensation mentioned is in the range of INR 6,00,000 to INR 11,00,000 per year.
