Duties and responsibilities

The role includes a wide range of crop-handling and field tasks, such as cleaning crops, cutting agricultural produce, separating marketable from non-marketable harvest, grading fruits and vegetables by size, shape, colour, and volume, greenhouse cleaning, guiding plant shoots, hand-harvesting vegetables, packing produce, removing suckers and water sprouts by hand, sorting produce, tying and supporting plants, weeding, cleaning the work area, harvesting crops, loading and unloading crates and supplies, identifying crop diseases and health issues, and checking produce quality and market readiness.

Crop and equipment experience

Experience with tomatoes is required for the crop type. The job also involves the use of hand tools.

Working conditions and physical demands

The position calls for independent work, a fast pace, repetitive duties, the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and comfort with heavy lifting and physically demanding work. Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, colour recognition, attention to detail, standing for long periods, walking, and managing a heavy workload are also important.

Weight handling

You should be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
