Role overview

This remote customer service position is well suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, speaking with customers, and finding practical answers. The work involves acting as a helpful point of contact, staying calm under pressure, and delivering a positive experience to callers across the United States.

What you will do

• Complete the virtual paid training program and pass the required weekly assessments.
• Act as the main contact for customers with utility-service questions, including service start/stop requests, billing concerns, and payment help.
• Handle questions, complaints, and service issues in a professional and supportive way.
• Use strong product, service, and policy knowledge to guide customers to the right solution.
• Record customer conversations and transactions accurately in the required systems.
• Work with other teams when needed to resolve issues and escalate more complex cases.
• Work toward customer satisfaction targets and performance goals.
• Look for ways to improve the customer journey and make processes more efficient.
• Keep current on product information and relevant industry updates.
• Work the scheduled hours of operation, including flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is energetic, engaging, solution-oriented, and able to communicate clearly. This role calls for someone who can stay focused on phone-based work for the full shift, manage multiple screens or tabs at once, and maintain a high standard of attendance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Ability to stay engaged on phone calls for the entire shift with minimal distractions and mostly sedentary work.
• Comfortable using computers and technology, including switching between multiple windows and tabs while speaking with customers.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Home office must be private, quiet, and distraction-free, with a door that can be closed.
• High-speed internet with an ethernet connection to the router; satellite or hotspot connections are not accepted.
• Internet speed must be at least 50 Mbps download and 35 Mbps upload.
• Wi-Fi must remain switched off at all times.
• Windows updates must be current.
