Role Overview
As a Cybersecurity Analyst on the Security Operations team, you will help deliver dependable security services to Aqueduct customers under the direction of Security Operations leadership. You will support multiple client environments, assist with threat and vulnerability mitigation, and contribute to improving overall security posture. The role includes work tied to Managed Threat Detection and Response (MTDR), Microsoft security operations, and security assessment activities for customers using Aqueduct services.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine security alerts, logs, and incidents with Managed Detection and Response tools while working under Security Operations guidance.
- Help run monthly security reviews for SecOps customers.
- Assist with the setup, monitoring, and tuning of Microsoft security platforms such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 security features.
- Support penetration testing tasks by gathering evidence, preparing documentation, and helping draft reports.
- Work with customers, under supervision, to identify security weaknesses and take preventive steps to reduce exposure.
- Record findings on the effectiveness of customer security controls and route recommendations for improvement through the Security Operations team.
- Keep current on new cyber risks and industry changes through training, mentorship, and structured development within the team.
Experience and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, IT, or another related technical area.
- Solid interest in growing a cybersecurity career, along with a working grasp of cybersecurity basics, networking fundamentals, and security operations concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft security tools, including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365 security capabilities, and related solutions.
- Basic understanding of Managed Detection and Response concepts; hands-on use of security tools is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability, with comfort working with both technical and non-technical people.
- Dependable ownership of tasks, curiosity to ask the right questions, and the discipline to finish assigned work.
- Flexible, positive, and customer-oriented mindset for working through changing priorities, evolving threats, and new technical problems.
- High motivation to learn, accept direction, and develop further in cybersecurity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Security certifications are considered a plus, though they are not mandatory.
