Role overview
This is a hands-on drafting opportunity with an established modular home builder delivering residential projects across New South Wales. The work is varied rather than repetitive, covering everything from custom family homes on rural land to lifestyle communities and residential developments. Based in Heatherbrae, the position is fully office-based and involves close day-to-day collaboration with planning, construction and project delivery teams.
The company has expanded significantly over the past five years, increasing output from about 40 homes a year to more than 120, and is continuing to grow in response to rising demand.
What you will do
- Create residential building drawings and project documentation in ArchiCAD.
- Prepare plans and supporting paperwork for council and approval processes.
- Work with internal teams, consultants and local authorities to move projects forward.
- Handle several projects at different stages of design and approval at the same time.
- Revise drawings and documents as project requirements change.
- Contribute to the wider team so clients across NSW receive high-quality outcomes.
What you should bring
The team is open to both experienced drafters and candidates earlier in their career who have a solid foundation and a willingness to keep developing. A positive attitude is valued as highly as technical experience.
- Ability to use ArchiCAD, or a strong working understanding of the software.
- Background in residential drafting, building design or the construction industry.
- Careful attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Comfort handling competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, accountable approach to work.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Team and culture
The business is a family-owned residential builder focused on modular construction throughout NSW. It employs around 30 people and is known for quality homes and a practical, down-to-earth workplace culture.
The organisation has a flat structure with hands-on leadership. Respect, teamwork and mutual support are central to how people work together. There is room to learn and grow, provided collaboration remains the priority.
