Role overview
This is a permanent full-time Factory Manager position based in County Meath, Ireland, within the manufacturing sector. The role offers the opportunity to take overall operational ownership of a busy production facility and is aimed at an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong focus on efficiency, continuous improvement, team development, and customer outcomes.
You will be responsible for ensuring the site runs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across production, warehousing, maintenance, quality, technical processing, and health and safety.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations & Engineering Manager, you will lead day-to-day site performance and guide multidisciplinary teams across the operation.
- Lead, coach, and develop teams working across the site’s operational functions.
- Improve productivity, quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall operational results.
- Support and drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and sustain a strong health and safety culture throughout the facility.
- Track and enhance core KPIs such as output, quality, cost control, and OEE.
- Spot opportunities to streamline processes and deliver savings.
- Maintain compliance with ISO standards, regulatory obligations, and audit requirements.
- Take ownership of CAPEX projects and support investment in new technologies and process upgrades.
- Work with stakeholders across multiple sites on broader business initiatives.
- Create a positive, high-performing environment that encourages engagement and development.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in senior manufacturing leadership, along with the ability to balance operational delivery, people management, and commercial priorities.
- Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a similar discipline at Level 7/8.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior manufacturing management position.
- Strong history of meeting operational KPIs and health & safety targets.
- Hands-on experience leading lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programmes.
- Strong coaching, leadership, and staff development capabilities.
- Commercially aware, results-oriented, and confident making decisions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Well organised with strong time management ability.
- Competent with Microsoft Office; SAP experience would be an advantage.
