Full-Time Security Guard

Role Overview

This position is for a security guard in Kamloops, British Columbia, working on-site at a client location. The role focuses on protecting client property, staff, and visitors while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Key Duties

• Monitor the assigned location and document incidents, unusual activity, and other relevant observations.
• Carry out routine patrols to look for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and issues with security or fire protection equipment.
• Maintain order and support site rules and directives relating to employees, visitors, and the premises.
• Manage entry to the facility by following the access control process.
• Patrol the site on foot or in a vehicle and check for unlocked doors, blocked exits, unsafe conditions, security breaches, mechanical issues, and unauthorized individuals.
• Safeguard evidence or an incident scene during accidents, emergencies, or security-related investigations.
• Respond appropriately to events such as fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, bad weather, and similar situations.
• Complete logs and reports as needed.
• Perform other assigned tasks as required by business needs, noting that duties may be adjusted and not every listed function may be required at all times.

Schedule and Compensation

The shift pattern is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and Monday and Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The job is based in Kamloops, BC, and the pay rate is $19.76 per hour.

Job Requirements

• Previous CCTV experience is required.
• A current OFA1 or Basic First Aid certificate is required.
• The candidate must be able to pass a background check.
• The role requires the ability to clearly see, hear, speak, and write.
• The job may involve occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking may be required for extended periods, including stair climbing and movement over slopes or uneven ground.
• Physical demands may include frequent lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
• The successful candidate must be able to satisfy and continue meeting all applicable security guard licensing requirements.
