Role overview
KIMS Hospital in Maidstone is looking for a process-driven administrator to support its Imaging Team as an Imaging Administrator on a bank basis. The position is focused on keeping radiology appointments and diagnostic clinics organised, while delivering a high standard of patient care.
This opportunity suits someone who is highly organised, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, and confident communicating in person, by phone, and by email.
The role is for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled between 08:00 and 20:00. Typical shift patterns are 08:00 to 16:00, 10:00 to 18:00, and 12:00 to 20:00.
What you will do
- Coordinate the daily booking of radiology appointments and make the best use of available clinic sessions.
- Handle telephone and email-based administrative support efficiently, professionally, and without delay.
- Keep an eye on the NHS email inbox for urgent referrals.
- Greet patients, visitors, consultants, and staff in the Radiology department, verify patient details, and direct people to the right hospital area when needed.
- Upload referrals and related paperwork to PAS promptly and accurately.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have solid general education, including English and Maths at grade 4 or equivalent, along with experience in a similar customer-facing administrative position. Strong IT ability, particularly with Word and Excel, is also required.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are essential. Experience with medical terminology, hospital administration, and radiology booking systems such as RIS/PAS would be an advantage.
