Key responsibilities
You will manage library collections and ensure both physical and digital resources are kept organized and accessible. The role also involves assisting learners and staff with research, information gathering, and information-literacy support. In addition, you will plan and deliver library-led programs and events that encourage use of the library and strengthen student learning.
Required skills
The position calls for strong library administration and organizational capability, solid research support skills, and familiarity with cataloging and library management software.
Requirements
A degree in library science or a closely related discipline is required. Prior experience working in a school library environment is also expected.
ISP Principles
The organization places children and students at the center of its work. Learner success is treated as the ultimate goal, while wellbeing and safety remain essential to everything that happens in the school community. Staff are expected to stay alert to safeguarding and health-and-safety concerns and to respond appropriately.
Respectful conduct is important, with an emphasis on care, inclusion, and appreciation of differences. The school aims to operate efficiently by concentrating on the priorities that matter most and by following shared policies and procedures. Financial decisions are expected to be made responsibly and with the needs of students and schools in mind. Continuous improvement and professional growth are also valued.
Safeguarding commitment
The school is dedicated to protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects the same commitment from staff and volunteers. Appointment is subject to vetting checks, including an online due diligence review, reference verification, and a satisfactory criminal background check or equivalent covering the previous 10 years of employment history.
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
The organization is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive workplace by recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing people from all backgrounds, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, disability, neurodivergence, socio-economic background, or other personal characteristics. Applicants who align with this vision and want to contribute to the organization’s success are encouraged to apply.
