Role Summary

Based in Salem, Tamil Nadu, and reporting to the Process Supervisor or Manager Operations, the Operator is responsible for keeping the process system under control. The role involves closely tracking pressure, temperature, and relative humidity readings on charts or computer screens, ensuring product moves through the facility at the right times, and supporting safe and efficient equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep a close watch on system readings, including pressure, temperature, and relative humidity, using charts or computer monitors.
  • Operate valves and adjust controls to maintain safe and effective equipment performance.
  • Monitor sterilizers and auxiliary equipment for any signs of malfunction and help with repairs when needed.
  • Record process data and maintain accurate documentation of readings.
  • Escalate any damaged product to the Shift Supervisor or Process Supervisor.
  • Report equipment or system issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technician.
  • Complete routine daily and weekly preventive maintenance tasks and support the maintenance team as required.
  • Store and remove processing chemicals in line with approved procedures and legal requirements.
  • Take part in plant safety committees and follow all safety policies and regulations.
  • Support additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Oversee the work of Process Assistant Operators.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior exposure of 6 months to 1 year in a sterilization environment is preferred.
  • Strong English communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking are essential.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds and carry out repeated bending and lifting over extended periods.
  • Forklift operating experience is required.
  • Computer literacy is preferred.
