Role summary

As a People Partner - Support, you will support the call center function in The Gambia by delivering people operations work in a proactive, thoughtful, and business-aligned way. You will partner closely with local support leaders and the wider people team to strengthen team performance, improve employee experience, and help drive a culture where people can do their best work.

What you'll do

  • Partner with the Support department to shape and execute an HR plan that supports team OKRs, including possible talent reallocation, organizational change, and reporting-line adjustments.
  • Work with Group and Team Leads to spot ways to improve team effectiveness, including restructuring, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Support managers in running the performance management process by encouraging regular feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching discussions, OKR tracking, performance reviews, and PIP follow-up.
  • Review sick leave records regularly to confirm that documentation is complete and company rules are being followed.
  • Track employee tenure changes for Benefit and Health Review purposes and ensure records are updated on time and in line with policy.
  • Process employee-level changes and make sure HR systems and personnel records stay accurate.
  • Handle workplace accommodation requests and coordinate with local medical professionals to help assess suitable adjustments.
  • Prepare and issue explanation letters for employees when needed.
  • Monitor compliance with HR policies, attendance goals, process deadlines, and other key people metrics.
  • Work with Support leaders to address repeated absenteeism and help improve attendance.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, resignations, terminations, and contract completions, including exit interviews and documentation handling.
  • Audit overtime submissions against company policy and local labor requirements.
  • Take on additional HR tasks as needed and work with the HR team on daily operations and wider people initiatives.
  • Build engagement through recognition, rewards, team activities, and career conversations, while helping reduce attrition through retention-focused actions.
  • Develop trusted relationships with team members and contribute to a positive, high-impact workplace culture.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, Labour Law, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong command of English.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR management, recruitment, and employee experience.
  • Practical experience across multiple HR areas, especially organizational development and disciplinary matters.
