Role overview

Join a global technology and professional services organization as a senior network administrator supporting enterprise mission IT operations. This role is part of a large network operations team and focuses on keeping LAN, WAN, and ICAN environments reliable, secure, and ready for a geographically dispersed user base. The position supports a forward-deployed austere site and may involve changing customer needs, rotational shifts, and 24/7/365 availability monitoring.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and manage routers, switches, and related networking software, including current Cisco IOS environments.
  • Support the full lifecycle of local and wide area network devices and ancillary hardware.
  • Work with ISP/OSP specialists on inside plant, outside plant, cabling, and trenching activities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repair, fabrication, and installation of copper and fiber cable plant infrastructure.
  • Handle patch panels, MDFs, CAT 5/6, RJ-11, and RJ-45 terminations, along with media converters, copper/fiber modems, and UPS installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Install copper and fiber systems in line with DoW TEMPEST standards, Army guide 3.15, and NSTISSI protective distribution system guidelines.
  • Test cabling for signal strength, degradation, continuity, throughput, and availability.
  • Splice and terminate both copper and fiber optic cables as needed.
  • Keep technical knowledge current and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

  • Must hold a Secret-level clearance and be eligible to obtain Top Secret clearance; a T5/SSBI investigation is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Candidate must be able to satisfy local country SOFA eligibility requirements.
  • Required certifications include CCNA; CCNP is preferred.
  • Additional Juniper certification or equivalent experience is valued.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required on day one.
  • ITIL Foundation certification must be obtained within 90 days of joining.
