Job Overview
This role is for a senior procurement professional who will oversee both technical and commercial sourcing for materials and services tied to major infrastructure and building works. The position calls for someone who can shape supplier strategy, manage cost and risk effectively, and deliver strong operational and technical support in a fast-paced construction setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess technical bids, tenders, and comparison documents, ensuring they match engineering specifications and project needs.
- Create and implement procurement approaches for significant project packages, including negotiation of high-value supplier deals and framework agreements.
- Work in close coordination with Engineering, QA/QC, and Project Management teams to address technical clarifications, obtain submittal approvals, and maintain adherence to project standards.
- Maintain strict control over procurement technical documentation, compliance records, and contractual conditions in line with company procedures and project specifications.
- Prepare and update procurement progress reports, milestone trackers, and commercial evaluation summaries for assigned packages, giving leadership clear visibility on status and risks.
Experience and Qualification
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
- At least 8 years of procurement experience within construction or contracting, including senior-level involvement on large-scale projects.
- Prior work experience in Qatar or the GCC is essential.
- Strong ability to produce technical reports, consolidate data, and track package status accurately.
- Solid understanding of supplier markets, construction materials, engineering submittals, and contract terms.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or procurement platforms, along with advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and stakeholder coordination.
