Role overview
The Sourcing Assistant supports the sourcing function by helping manage supplier relationships, monitoring critical paths, and keeping everyday operations organized. The role works across multiple teams to help ensure products arrive on time, meet quality expectations, and stay within target costs. This position involves regular collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Buying, Merchandising, Fabric Sourcing, Garment Tech, Sustainability, Finance, Supply Chain, and Logistics, along with suppliers across important sourcing regions.
Key duties
- Help with onboarding new suppliers and building productive, long-term relationships with the supplier base.
- Monitor supplier performance, capability, and capacity to inform business and commercial decisions.
- Keep supplier databases, trackers, and scorecards accurate and up to date.
- Review sourcing, cost, and merchandising information to support trading decisions and spot opportunities.
- Work with Buying, Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to deliver shared goals.
- Support Ethical Trade and Sustainability teams with compliance, responsible sourcing, and improvement action plans.
- Assist with sourcing projects and global initiatives throughout the season.
- Support costing tasks, sample requests, and ongoing communication with suppliers.
- Prepare concise internal updates, summaries, and presentations for key stakeholders.
- Attend supplier meetings, site visits, and trade shows when required.
- Contribute to sourcing strategy execution and continuous improvement work.
- Help strengthen the company culture by supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Work model
The role is based in the office, with at least three days per week spent working together in person. ASOS says this approach is intended to improve speed of decision-making, strengthen collaboration, and support learning and growth across the team.
