Technician-1

Role overview

This position supports the final build and packing of gas turbine parts, with a focus on nozzle-related assembly work such as fitting nozzle seals, installing nozzles and retaining rings, and carrying out packing tasks. The role calls for careful, safe execution of each step, along with a strong Lean mindset and active participation in improvement work that boosts safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

What you will do

• Install nozzle hardware according to approved instructions, process requirements, and engineering specifications.
• Carry out packing work in line with established procedures and packaging standards.
• Review and understand work instructions and quality documentation to complete assembly and packing correctly.
• Capture and update process records accurately whenever required.
• Operate installation aids, fixtures, packing materials, and hand tools in a safe and proper manner.
• Check components before and after assembly and packing to confirm they meet quality expectations.
• Follow standard work and standard work combination sheets to keep output consistent, safe, and efficient.
• Keep the work area tidy, safe, and well organized in line with 5S expectations.
• Apply Lean principles consistently in day-to-day work.
• Take part in problem solving, root cause reviews, and corrective actions when process or quality issues arise.
• Share ideas that improve safety, quality, cycle time, flow, and waste reduction.
• Help strengthen standard work, line layout, visual controls, and process discipline to support Lean implementation.
• Contribute to team efforts that improve line performance, operational efficiency, and shop productivity.
• Work to takt time, cycle time, and defined process flow requirements to meet production targets.
• Use shop-floor systems and interfaces such as ELM and SmartShop as needed.
• Follow company quality policies, safety rules, applicable procedures, and standard work requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma, technical college qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a technician, manufacturing, assembly, packing, or industrial environment.
• Experience with grinding-related work, including cutting, polishing, and opening holes.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly processes will be an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience handling packing and material movement activities will be an advantage.
• Exposure to problem solving or process improvement work is desirable.
• At least 2 years of experience working with gas turbine components or similar precision aerospace/industrial parts will be an advantage.
