Job description

Role overview

A multinational creative and marketing agency is expanding its Saudi business and is seeking an Account Director to join the client servicing team in Riyadh. The role focuses on one of the agency’s key regional accounts and combines client leadership with delivery oversight.

The position sits between relationship management and day-to-day execution control. You will own senior client interactions, keep internal teams aligned, and ensure briefs are clear, structured, and actionable. The role calls for someone who can bring structure to complex workstreams, manage multiple stakeholders, and maintain momentum across different disciplines and timelines.

As the main client contact, you will convert business needs into clear direction for teams working across corporate communications, campaigns, digital, and internal brand projects. You will also support consistency, expectation management, and delivery quality across the account.

The agency is looking for someone comfortable in a fast-moving environment with many moving parts, who can balance client care with strong delivery discipline and who understands the expectations of the Saudi market.

Job details

  • Job title: Account Director
  • Reports to: Group Account Director
  • Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
  • Working days and hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Work arrangement: Remote, with 3 days per week at the client’s headquarters
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Salary: 28,000 to 30,000 AED per month, or 360,000 AED per year

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with major clients while ensuring communications remain culturally and professionally aligned.
  • Keep communication clear, timely, and consistent, building confidence in a relationship-led market.
  • Run senior-level client meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and influence.
  • Strengthen client retention and satisfaction by spotting needs early, managing expectations well, and resolving issues before they grow.
  • Spot opportunities for account growth and help support new business activity in the Saudi market.
  • Guide and develop the client servicing team, encouraging ownership, structured thinking, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Work closely with creative, strategy, digital, and production teams to deliver work smoothly from start to finish.
  • Track account profitability with operations support, including cost control, margin awareness, and commercial discipline.
  • Represent the agency in Saudi Arabia, promoting its vision, creative quality, and service capability to clients and industry contacts.
  • Contribute to the agency’s market presence through case studies, success stories, and external brand storytelling.

Requirements

  • At least 6 to 10+ years of experience in account management or client services within a creative, digital, or integrated agency.
  • A strong history of managing valuable client relationships and delivering multi-channel campaigns.
  • Good understanding of the Saudi market, including business culture, etiquette, and client expectations.
  • Experience with large regional or local brands; exposure to government, semi-government, or major private sector accounts is an advantage.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English; Arabic is a strong plus.
  • Strong commercial understanding, including budgets, margins, and agency profitability.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams while maintaining high performance under pressure.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, especially with senior client contacts.
  • A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with several projects running at the same time.

Additional information

Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential, along with prior experience in Saudi markets. Relocation may be considered for candidates who already meet these requirements.

The role is particularly suited to someone who can handle complexity, protect delivery standards, and operate effectively across creative, commercial, and leadership environments.

Nice to have

  • Background in energy, government, or B2B sectors.
  • A current network within the Saudi marketing and brand community.
  • Experience working on Vision 2030-aligned or transformation-focused brands.
  • Familiarity with both global agency standards and local execution expectations in Saudi Arabia.
