Role overview
This position supports the finance team by handling staff expense claims and vendor invoices efficiently, helping to ensure payments are accurate and processed on time. The role also contributes to month-end closing activities, supports internal control standards, strengthens vendor coordination, and helps produce dependable financial information for business decisions. The appointment is for a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with the Shared Service Team to review and process employee claims in line with company policy.
- Coordinate with internal teams to make sure claim submissions are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Maintain and update the staff claims policy on the online platform whenever changes are required.
- Work with the Regional Treasury Centre on weekly planning for foreign exchange conversion and hedging activities.
- Support the preparation of daily and monthly cash flow forecast reports.
- Help compile the monthly treasury report and other required documentation as needed.
- Assist with the twice-yearly Treasury Health Check exercise.
- Prepare supporting documents requested by the RTC from time to time.
- Create and post journal entries for expenses, accruals, and other transactions.
- Support month-end reporting and variance analysis for management review.
- Make sure all closing checklists are completed correctly and within deadlines.
- Work with the shared services team on accounts receivable tasks, including customer payment application and daily sending of statements of account.
- Track AR aging reports and follow up on overdue balances.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances.
- Assist auditors by responding to questions and sharing supporting records.
- Collaborate with the tax team and provide support when required.
- Carry out other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and requirements
- A diploma or higher qualification in finance, accounting, or a related area is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in accounts payable.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, along with the ability to work well with others.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with SAP is an advantage.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Should be organised, resourceful, proactive, and able to manage several tasks at once.
- Willingness to accept a one-year contract, subject to renewal.
