Accountant

Role overview

Build Event is a Saudi business focused on interior fit-out and turnkey delivery for commercial offices, retail spaces, and similar environments. The company is looking for an accurate and dependable Accountant to handle daily accounting activities, strengthen financial controls, and contribute to reliable reporting across the business. The position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and reports to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

The role covers core bookkeeping, reporting, payables and receivables, and compliance support.

• Keep the general ledger up to date and record financial transactions accurately.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and accounts payable/receivable balances.
• Track cash flow and routine financial activity.
• Maintain well-organized accounting files and supporting documents.
• Produce monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Support budget preparation, variance review, and management reporting.
• Help ensure month-end and year-end closings are completed on time.
• Handle supplier payments, ledger reconciliations, invoicing, and collections follow-up.
• Monitor overdue receivables and maintain payment schedules and approvals.
• Support VAT compliance, tax submissions, audit preparation, and internal controls.
• Follow company financial policies and procedures consistently.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Applicants should have 3 to 4 years of accounting experience; experience in construction, fit-out, or events is preferred.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and VAT rules is essential.
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel is needed.
• Non-Saudi candidates must have a transferable Iqama.
