Job description
Role overview
This position focuses on delivering strategic analysis across performance, portfolio, and financial areas to help drive Commercial and Enterprise segment strategies. The role exists to support timely, evidence-based decisions that improve growth, optimise portfolios, and strengthen risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Gather, assess, and share performance, industry, and market information to identify client, sector, and market movements and turn those findings into practical opportunities and solutions.
- Help execute segment plans by supporting aligned strategic projects and KPIs for enterprise tiers and commercial sectors.
- Review budgets and profitability by analysing variances, forecasting results, spotting weak performance, and offering recommendations that support income growth and annual planning.
- Monitor strategic commitments by tracking progress, risks, and dependencies, escalating concerns early, and producing standard reports and dashboards for decision-making on sales, pipeline, profitability, budgets, and forecasts.
- Assess financial and non-financial outcomes to highlight shifts in portfolio trends, customer and product behaviour, operational constraints, and performance gaps across sectors and segments.
- Deliver portfolio and credit insights by examining growth patterns, credit quality, customer behaviour, and market conditions to identify risks and revenue opportunities, and to propose actions that improve portfolio mix, asset quality, and risk-adjusted returns for sales teams.
- Develop collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support cross-functional engagement, relevant value propositions, client growth, and improved share of wallet through coordination and stakeholder discussions.
Qualifications and experience
- A first degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- At least 6 years of experience with a basic understanding of the BCB strategy, capability, and operating environment.
- Exposure to business analytics, KPI tracking, and reporting on strategic initiatives, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
- Proven ability to conduct research, including data collection and analysis, and to report on performance, market, and industry information.
- Experience interpreting financial and non-financial measures to understand portfolio trends, customer behaviour, and operational performance.
- Ability to prepare presentations, dashboards, and briefing documents for internal stakeholders and management forums.
