Role overview
This position is for an Assistant Project Manager based in Singapore, supporting the delivery of projects from planning through completion. The role focuses on coordinating users, clients, contractors, and internal technical teams to make sure project outcomes stay aligned with business goals, technical needs, budgets, and timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Manage communication and coordination with users, clients, and other important stakeholders so that project scope, requirements, and technical details remain aligned.
- Oversee contractors on a day-to-day basis, including manpower planning, materials procurement, and equipment mobilisation, while staying within approved cost and time limits.
- Prepare and supervise tender-related work such as RFQ specifications, project schedules, tender invitations, and the review and recommendation of submitted proposals.
- Lead project and management discussions, support decision-making, and guide teams in resolving technical, commercial, and operational matters to meet client expectations.
- Own delivery across the full project lifecycle, including testing and commissioning and the final transfer of systems and equipment to end users.
- Direct testing and commissioning activities at completion to ensure facilities are safe, compliant, and ready for operation.
- Work closely with engineers and technical personnel to provide direction on specifications, reviews, and improvements to existing facility services systems.
- Track, control, and report project progress, milestones, risks, and performance to support successful on-time completion.
- Ensure contractors submit complete handover packages, including as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records, and operation and maintenance manuals, in line with contract terms.
- Review and sign off project status reports for senior management and clients, covering progress, issues, risks, and mitigation actions.
- Handle additional managerial and operational duties as needed to support project and organisational objectives.
Requirements
- Applicants should hold a degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a diploma in Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience, along with proven leadership exposure.
- Strong judgement, risk assessment, and problem-solving ability are essential for guiding teams through complex project situations.
- Prior experience in project management is required, especially in budget oversight, contractor coordination, stakeholder engagement, and end-to-end project delivery.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is needed, along with the ability to review and interpret technical and management reports.

This role requires end-to-end project ownership, close coordination with multiple stakeholders, and active involvement in technical and management decision-making. The successful candidate will also be expected to support project completion activities, documentation close-out, and any related operational tasks assigned by management.
